Happens all the time...... not only in jewelry, but in all the different art form and artistic expression, but since jewelry (jewellery) made with beads and wire is what I am familiar with, thus this is the subject that I would like to discuss with you....

As some of you know, I am the new owner of . I volunteered because I love all the sparklies, and obviously I enjoy playing with beads and wire. To some traditional artists, to date, it is still not consider "real" jewelry. But! To me, I think the possibilities is simply endless! One will need to be way more creative to create One-Of-A-Kind, truly Original when all that we're using are mass produced "beads" and readily available "wire", whether you use the real or man-made, it is making a huge HUGE scene on the market of adornment!!

What makes a piece Original??

There are only so many ways to string or restring a strand of beads, there are wired and coiled and wrapped, add a charm there, or finish with a gorgeous clasp... All of these are almost always ready-made, mass produced, so what's the chance of someone else using the same beads or finish as you are??? By changing the earwire, or one bead to another??? Does that make it original??

To me, it is entirely possible!

Since the major trend of artisan made jewelry lately are wire and beads, I am going to feature some of my favorite that I've ran into on the web, some are here on DA, while some are not.... the one person to me that single handedly changed MY view with possibilities to what can be done with wire and beads is for sure Eni Oken ( [link] ) She's always been generous enough and for sure confident enough to share her tutorials on the web for such a minimum fee. I know for sure she's inspired a lot of people into making a lot of variation, and this recent surge is definitely a great thing don't you think??? Given us even more possibilities with wire and beads!

So what's ORIGINAL to you???

My definitely of a piece being "Origial", is when the artist use these readily available materials, transform them into wearable art. Each piece catches the essence of the artist in it, or even a story to tell.....

One of my all time favorite from here on DA is gotta be She is so comfortable with wire and knows how to manipute late so well! Each and every one of her piece looks original to me!!



One of the newest one that I have on my watchlist is I don't know her too well just yet, but I definitely enjoy her pieces!!!



Another one that's quite amazing is But she's already a pretty well known one here on DA.



I think that's enough for today, for someone who enjoys looking at features, there's enough blings for you to drool over......
